While reading the book, I kept thinking of the books in the Animesh series written by Samresh Majumdar. In four books from Inheritance to the Apocalypse, the author summarizes the whole life of a human being. Similarly, Harishankar Jaldas has written about the whole life of Shiva Shankar who was born in Jalepara in his book ‘Before Departure’. Not just an anecdote of personal life, but the story of an entire period, of an entire Kaivartya society.
Written on the last page of the book, the language of ‘before departure’ is simple. Weightless, unpretentious. This novel by Harishankar Jaldas will quench the reader’s thirst for story.

But to be honest, my thirst was not quenched, reading the last page of this book of three hundred and fifty pages, it seemed that it would not be bad to add another three hundred pages to it.
Those who have read the book have a question, is the book ‘Before Departure’ just a story of the life of a Shiva Shankar in Jalepara or did the author write his autobiography by shielding Shiva Shankar?
After reading this book, I want to read more books written by Harishankar Jaldas. Those who have read Harishankar Jaldas’s book were requested to suggest the names of some of his books.
